    I always thought that those evangelicals were the American Taliban, with their instance on biblical law etcetera. Maybe I am just an ignorant European.

      Hahahah, yeah it’s always been my fear that the fundies would discover how much they have in common with the salafists and join forces.
      One of Tulsa’s suburbs still outlaws dancing in public (big bible college town). It is beyond all reason here.

        Your post reminds me of a remark from Jon Stewart about Michele Bachman’s fear of atheists willing to transform into an Islamic state: “Atheist secular state of the islamic type? What would that mean? Praying five times a day to a god in which they do not believe?” (I am paraphrasing Stewart)
