Meanwhile, back at Fox Nation, the Trayvon Martin “truthers” struggle to construct ever more desperate conspiracy theories to justify their eroding sense of white privilege.

For nearly 28 years the U.S. government has harbored an increasingly embarrassing secret: A CIA tip to South African intelligence agents led to the arrest that put black nationalist leader Nelson Mandela in prison for most of his adult life.

“Yes, we should say something. Yes, we should tell him he’s a lunatic”: Goblinbooks relays a message from the terrified people sitting next to Pat Robertson.

From Cory at BoingBoing: “Agence France-Presse posted this amazing photo of protesters in Cairo zapping a military helicopter with lasers of varying power and color. Spill, baby, spill! So far two major lawsuits have been filed against ExxonMobil for their Pegasus pipeline rupture in Mayflower, AR. Although the pipeline was 60 years old and designed to carry light crude, Exxon was pumping highly corrosive tar sands oil (or diluted bitumen, “dilbit”) at a flow-rate higher than it was designed carry, according to one suit. The break contaminated Lake Conway, a tributary of the Arkansas River and the biggest man-made lake in the country, and the ecological hazards of the spill, which the lawsuit says Exxon actively attempted to cover up in wholesale fashion, are nothing short of catastrophic.
