Happy Friday Frivolities!

May 11, 2013

Hammer down and celebrate your Friday! Here’s something you can’t un-see: “Space Truckers” (1996), starring the late, great and greatly missed working actor Dennis Hopper.  Nothing steals a scene like a square pig!

Here’s an oldie-but-goodie about having fun with security challenge questions. “I don’t remember the answer, but your voice is getting me really hot!”

In case you wondered, yes, vacuum distillation  (at 31°C and 20 millibars) can turn 30% food-grade H2O2 into 90% “T-stoff” oxidizer at a 3:1 decrease in volume (3 litres 30% = 1 litre 90%). Here’s the video proof. Kids, don’t try this at home! And never wear your good leather shoes when handling the stuff!

Here’s naval analyst Chris Weuve talking about what Battlestar Galactica gets right about space warfare.

Are you going to the Steampunk World’s Fair (partially sage rogues merry and fine) next weekend?

If so, you are cordially invited to attend the release party for Steampunk Magazine #9, 10pm-midnight on Saturday, May 18 in the Centennial Room at the Embassy Hotel.

A surreal time will be had by all! Enjoy parlor games, silent films, interesting individuals and different things! It is sure to be the social event of the season!

Be there or be missing!
